it seems that there were a small volume of piracy in Macao -- if we compare it with Mainland China. It is difficult to know how serious of piracy in Macao. If compare Macao with some developed cities and countries, such as Singapore,Auckland....etc, we can know that how serious of piracy in Macao. However, it is not a advantage stuff ,it may affect our city image and intentions of the consumer for a long while. I think the Macao Government should start to stop piracy and the most efficient way is education.

Why do people like to purchase /distribute piracy? One of the reasons is people like to buy so do the other like to sell or make it. it is a cycle. Education is the most essential thing which Macao government have to do, to teach the young impressionably on respecting intellectual property right. Therefore, the students can based on their own judgement of right or wrong, and less people willing to purchase piracy.

Education is the way that we can exterminate piracy completely. It cost not much and have a great efficiency. It is better than to raid on suspected shops if selling the pirated products everyday continuously. Education is not just telling all the students not to purchase piracy, but it can make all of us have a concept to judge what is right or wrong.

People in Macao may have the impression that piracy is not serious in Macao. It is because we always make comparison between Mainland China and Macao. Macao citizens are in the dark how serious piracy in Macao is. If we compare Macao with a developed city or country ,such as Singapore, or Auckland, we can see piracy in Macao is quite serious. However, piracy is something infamous and it may affect the image of our city and shoppers' confidence for a long time. I think the Macao government should tackle the problem without delay and I think the most effective way is through education.

The fact is there are people who want to get something cheap and as there is such a demand there are venders who sell or pirate them. It is like a vicious cycle. The most important thing the government has to do is to educate the young to respect the intellectual property right. Consequently, students can act based on their own sense of right and wrong and as a result fewer people would like to purchase the pirate products.
