Be sure your BIOS is set to boot from the optical disc first so you know the message is not coming from the hard drive.

Sounds like you have a scratched disc. To confirm, run a CD/DVD scanner to confirm. for example, VSO Inspector: http://www.vso-software.fr/download_product_direct.php?product=inspector

If the CD checks out OK with no errors, there might be bad sectors on your hard drive.

What file is missing anyways? Also- are you installing this on a New Hard Drive?
If so- is this a Sata Drive? Heres where u get the Sata or RAID Drivers

Let us know- we know XP like a MAP. Let us know what file is missing?

This will be easy to fix..

Try clean your disc or change a new disc?

Hope your Windows XP is not pirated version, if it's genuine then try reformat your hard drive then reinstall again.
