下半旗有咩意思?

簡單的問題。

即是話國家認同這件事情發生的重點，所以要關懷當事

人，就算當比一個禮受害者，所以要下半旗致哀。

Another word being used following the Manila tragedy is half-mast. When you fly a flag at half-mast to honour the dead it means flying it half-way up the flagpole. But Americans don't say half-mast. They say half-staff. Did you know when a flag is flown at half-mast it is to allow for an "invisible flag" marking death to fly at the top of the pole?

馬尼拉挾持人質事件中，另一個被提到的字是「half-mast」（下半旗）。為死者下半旗，是指在旗杆上一半國旗，讓它隨風飛揚。美國人不會說「half-mast」，他們說「half-staff」。你知道下半旗的意義嗎？它是讓標誌死者的一支「隱形旗子」，在旗杆的上半部份飛舞。
