PST and GMT time question?

I know PST is 8 hours behind GMT so does that mean when its 6pm PST its 10am GMT, or is it 2am GMT? So basically what I want to know is does 6pm PST = 2am GMT or 6pm PST = 10am GMT? Which one is correct?
更新1:

OMG no links please. Just tell me which is correct for my current situation in london. Just tell the bloody answer! The reason I posted this is because I couldn't find the answer somewhere else so please don't send links.

Ok, well, as you said, PST is 8 hours BEHIND GMT.....another way of looking at it is that GMT is 8 hours AHEAD of PST. Now, imagine it's 6pm Thursday PST - then it's 2am Friday GMT.

Basically, time zones are for historical reasons based on GMT - the Greenwich meridian (lines of longtitude on a map or globe) is designated 0 degrees. The Earth is 24000 miles in circumference, and coincidentally spins on it's axis once every 24 hours (i.e. it spins at 1000 miles an hour). That means that, because the sun rises in the east, for every 1000 miles west, there is a time difference of -1 hour, and for every 1000 miles east, a difference of +1 hour.

Hope this clears things up for you!
