stayover at airport for 3 - 4 hours?? you can only go window shopping in the airport terminal. take a bus to LA downtown is about 1 hour in one way. ( if without traffer jam ).
and also you need time to go through the security check again when you return to airport..... that is another 20 to 30 minutes........

so, do you still have time to get off the bus or subway station????

same thing if i stayover in HK airport for 3,4 hours, will i have time to go to TST for shopping?? ( RE. city of LA is much bigger than HK. )

1. Unless you hold a transit visa (C1), otherwise, you can. The only problem is you will not have enough time as:

a. Immigration can take you 30 minutes to an hour.

b, You need to return at least 1 hour before the departure.

2. About 30 minutes to 1 hour.
