what is Puntis mean

Puntis有兩個解釋,一個是英美源自芬蘭或瑞典的姓氏。
第二個解釋是我們叫 ' 本地人' , punti 就是廣府話的' 本地' 譯作了英文的發音。puntis就是本地人。這個字是香港產品, 原因是在香港開埠之初, 只有極少原居民主要在港島以捕魚為生, 繼而客家人(Hakkas)從中國內地到香港新界各地居住,時日久了遂形成了新界各個圍村, 到現今已有過百年歷史了, 所以口頭上仍稱作客家人(Hakkas) 但事實已被所有人認同為Puntis, 本地人了。

they were oringinal from Guangdong,fujian and jiangxi and have been living in the New Territories since the mid 10th century.they were the first group to settle in Hong Kong . they made a living mainly by farming. their dialect is Cantonese.
