功課:動詞轉名詞(英文)

一般既動詞轉名詞沒有規則,要死記

Live (verb), alive (adjective), life (noun), live (adverb)
Living (adjective), 通常verb + ing (present participle)可做adjective 和 noun.
另外 past participle可做adjective. (例如: broken) 和 noun (例如: injured)

Liver 是 noun, 生活者, 居民, 並且解”肝髒”

Lose (verb), loss (noun), lost and losing (adjective), 沒有 adverb
Laugh (verb),.laugh (noun), laughing (adjective), laughingly (adverb)
Laughter (noun)

Verb + er 可變做 noun, 解doer者
Work + er = worker 工人,勞動者, 工作者
Lose + r = loser 失敗者, 遺失者
Play + er = player 競賽者,遊戲者
Sing + er = singer 歌手

小心例外字:
Cook + er = cooker 烤爐

某字增添 Verb + or
sail + or = sailor 海員

通常多數字 end in +ly 是 adverb.
通常多數字 end in +ize, +fy 是 verb.
通常多數字 end in +ment, +cy, +tion, + ist 是 noun

英文有例外, 沒有解釋,最後要死記, 許多字有很多含意
e.g. friendly是 adjective, mention 是 verb ….etc.

雖然 "Liver” 大多數解 ”肝髒”, Liver 是與 live (verb) 有關.

首先查清楚你見到的字是甚麼詞性。

live - life/living [liver是一個名詞(肝)，但不是跟live有關的名詞]
lose - loss/losing [同樣loser(失敗者)是名詞，但不是lose這個字義的名詞]
laugh - laugher/laughing [laugher不是「笑的人」，是「笑聲」，所以應該是跟笑相關的名詞]
都是動詞 - 相關名詞/動名詞(gerund)。動名詞是直接verb的名詞形態，所以意思基本一樣的。live/living是生存，lose/losing是失去，laugh/laughing是笑。

beauty名詞(noun)-beautify動詞(verb)-beautiful形容詞(adjective)-beautifully副詞(adverb)

如你所言，有些動詞和名詞的關係是沒有規則的，但動詞轉為動名詞(gerund)則一定是加ing.
