about inversion

如果我理解正確的話，一般句子排列是subject-verb-adverb-object...，inversion(倒置句)是改為adverb-verb(a)-subject-verb(a')-object。並不是把verb放在頭，那就會變成「問句」。verb(a)是tense的時性(例：have, will, sha, is, etc.) verb(a')是動詞的主體。當然如果句子是複雜再要細拆主句和副句的編排。

至於如這句的conditional句，我想是把verb改為寫在前面，反轉來講吧，當中連if也不用了。但是單單如你的改法好像不太妥，因為can i recommend...便變成問句了。所以要按verb的性質作出改寫，can是present tense，意思是可能/可以/有能力，而最初型的present-可以的verb是be，而 I 的be verb是am，因此我會改寫為(從寫作閱讀理解角度)：

Am I to recommend this book to others, I will.

但是文法規則上你的寫法可能是正確的inversion.不過我仍有一個寫法是

Can this book I recommed to others, I will. 希望是正確。

"Can I" is not appropriate here.
If you need to make an inversion for this sentence, you need to use "should" instead of "can".
Should I recommend this book to others, I will......
"Should I...." is an inversion = If I should .......
