The most noise comes from the compressor of the air con as for window unit is built together & the compressor is close to you , the only way if you want to reduce noise you must clean your air con frequently to make sure the effeciency is always high so once the air con reaches your set temperature the compressor will automatically stop function only the fan blows out the cool air . At this period the air con is much quite . Or you can change your window unit to a separate unit type air con so the noisy part is outside away from you .
