i really dont know what to do anymore.
i mean i treated my two dogs with Frontline Plus which is supposed to really get rid of them, but it didnt.
and i also treated my grass outside.
and i still have them all over in my house and on my dogs.
its so frustrating.
Does anyone know anything that would help limit them?

1. bathe the dogs in a soothing dog shampoo, leave sudsy for at least five minutes and rinse ... this will kill the fleas on the dogs ... do not use flea shampoo, that is just dog shampoo with harsh chemicals that have no residual effect and plain old suds will kill the fleas and be more gentle to the dogs skin ...
2. when completely dry apply VET-STRENGTH flea prevention, apply every three weeks and not monthly ...
3. next put a flea collar in your vacuum cleaner bag and vacuum every single day thoroughly for thirty days ... this is to vacuum up all eggs you can and some fleas and the flea collar in the bag will kill them ... after a month throw out the vacuum cleaner bag and put a fresh bag and collar into the vacuum ...
4. next buy a household flea spray FROM THE VET, it must be vet strength or you are wasting your time and money ... spray all crack and crevices, baseboards, around where the dogs spend most of their time ...
5. hot wash and dry in a dryer all soft fabrics the dogs come in contact with ...
6. treat your yard with food-grade diatomaceous earth ...
7. in two weeks bathe the dogs again, let them sit sudsy for five minutes, and in a week add more flea prevention ...

there are no home remedies or else everyone would be using them ... you have to invest some time and money to fix the situation and if you follow the above directions completely, you will be flea free ... my friends home was infested with fleas ... like you sat down on the sofa and the fleas were not just jumping on ankles, they would jumping on our necks !!! the animals were crawling in fleas ... we did the above and she was flea-free in thirty days ... it was a lot of work but it paid off because for every one flea you see there are 30 more ... every adult flea lays 90 eggs a day ... the eggs can take 2 to 15 days to hatch (which is why you will sometimes see an explosion two weeks after you started treating the situation) ... you can see how they can get out of control very quickly ... no flea bomb from walmart, no garlic, no Dawn dishwashing soap, no apple cider vinegar are going to work ... you need vet-strength products if you want to deal with this situation effectively ... fleas out of control can lead to anemia and worms, worms transferable to humans ... good luck ...

I don't use frontline, but does frontline keep the eggs from hatching?

I would schedule your dogs in at the groomers and tell them they need a flea treatment. Then take the opportunity to clean everything in your house (I hear moth balls work but you and your dogs do not want to be in the same area for quite a while)

Wash all the bedding, vacuum everything!!

Vacuum a lot, and wash any fabrics and clothes in the washer.

I used to work at a grooming salon where we use Dawn or Ajax to bathe the dogs. Apply the soap to the wet dog. The soap will be thick so if you need to dilute it with some water, about 1/2 and 1/2. Focus on problem areas like the neck and ear. Once the dog is fully lathered up, he MUST sit for a full 10 minutes. This allows the soap to suffocate the fleas. You can continue to massage the dog so he doesn't feel uncomfortable sitting there for 10 minutes. Then the hard part is rinsing this all off fully. You will see all the fleas just falling off of him. Its really important to fully rinse until no more bubbles are anywhere on the dog. Although this method gets rid of fleas, in some cases, this can dry out there skin. You can give him an oatmeal bath afterward if your concerned.

As to the other areas of you house...act like you have lice. Wash everything in hot water and bleach when you can. You can also pick up some flea spray and spray the common areas that you cannot wash.

Call you vet to ask for an alternative treatment.
