A reaction vessel is filled with a gas at 20度and 5 atm. If the vessel can withstand a max. internal pressure of 10 atm,what is the highest temp. it can be safely heated to ?

Suppose that the reaction vessel is a rigid body, i.e. the gas volume is kept constant.Then by using the pressure, we have:
5/(273 + 20) = 10/T
T = 586 K
= 313 deg. C
