You know what is a SAM system right? (Mud-17 or Mud 19)
Would you think if it is a good idea to replace all the static SAM system to Portable SAM such as SA-7 or FIM-92?

You need to know, the cost to make a Patriot Missile can be 1 - 6 millions (Average with launch platform is 4 millions) so for each Patriot launcher + missile youcan get about 150 Stinger launcher (FIM-92 cost about $40,000 each)

Although you can agrue Partiot is more accurate than FIM and somehow FIM does not work after 20,000 fts. I am not sure about you, i would be scared shxtless if i saw 150 Stinger Missile chasing me at the same time rather than just the 1 patriot missile......

You need to know, everything have a price tag on it, if and when you can make FIM almost as good as patriot missile and still with a fraction of the price, they would do it.

Just want to tell you this, i don't care about howmuch a bullet cost, if it can kill people, that's all i need to know.

樓主之問題基本上有問題，所以實在難答。問題是何謂坦克，廣義上祇要配備裝甲之戰車，就可叫坦克。而狹義上，樓主之意圖應是指主戰坦克；但又要考慮何謂主戰坦克，其作用是甚麼功能，主戰坦克之主要用途是消滅敵人之重武器及強防禦設施。基於以上定義，輪式裝甲車，配105大炮(南非與中國現在是有裝備該類型武器的)，是否能勝任主戰坦克之功能，這就要看對手配有何種武器。這是相對的問題，而裝甲防護亦是重要考慮之因素，而樓主卻要剔除該因素，真令人費解。需知道輪式裝甲車或輕型裝甲車只能抵擋12.7毫米子彈，如果對方配有20-40毫米機炮，可以說有幾高機動力都無用。
現代武器有很多組合，亦有其特性/特點，基本上不存在那個取代另一個，必須靈活運用才正確。

之前法國佬同意大利好似試過將一支105炮放係一架8X8輪式之上。呢架車係路面上既速度當然高，但據聞佢既越野性能如預期一樣遠不及履帶車。另外架車穩定性不足，命中率自然不高。架車要高速，而且輪式車個懸掛點無履帶車咁勁，所以裝甲不能太強，好容易被擊穿，就係以上既原因令輪式炮車未能成為主流。
