My bike (bicycle)'s tire will not stay inflated. The valve contains a pin on the middle which is depressed when attached to a pump, after the pump is finished pumping the pump is removed and the pin is supposed to pop back out to prevent air leakage, but the pin will not pop back out after I remove the pump and the air escapes. So I can never pump the tire. Anyone know how to repair that?

You probably have some debris holding the valve open, or a defective valve. They do make valve stem removers, inexpensive, at the bike shop. Tell them of your problem, and ask if they have an old tube to take a spare valve home... (they will have one). At the same time buy a spare tube for future use! You can insert the tool, unscrew and remove the valve, clean it up and reinsert it. It still may fail. If you have that spare valve you got from the shop, insert and try it! If it still fails there is probably something in the valve stem itself that will prevent the valve from closing.

That being the case, the safest and surest way it to just replace the tube with the new one you got at the bike shop!.

Did you forget approximately to sense around the interior the tire for something pointy sticking via? via fact the indoors tube is what holds the air, the air ought to be escaping from it some how. The valve could could desire to come returned out and placed it returned in. Patching tubes is a capability that has saved me 1000's of dollars by the years. a number of my tubes have had as much as eight-9 patches on them. inspite of the shown fact that that could be a capability that ought to be won with practice.. attempt Sheldon Brown's internet site for patching hints. I carry 3 spare tubes on bevets AND a patch kit and approaches... merely in case! I as quickly as had 5 residences in fifty miles. inspite of a clean tube, try it in water, assume no longer something!

You will have to replace the tube or replace the valve core.
