They need young players. Also a famous player or two to attract more people that way they get more money and can by even better players with that money
They need to put more money into scouting and draft better players. They then need to raise their payroll and hold onto the talented players that they develop instead of traidng them away, so that they avoid having big contracts.
They never draft good, young talent and when they do they end up trading them away. i think that the pirates woes will last for a while if they keep going the way they have been
a) Small market, not a lot of money to spend
b) Little market attractiveness, What the hell is there to do in Pittsburgh? Same with Kansas City
c) Upper management makes many dumb decisions for the Pirates.
