Answer: B
Differences in who and whom
Differences will be explained based on these 2 examples:
The man is a lawyer. The man is my friend.
The man, who is a lawyer, is my friend.
The man is a lawyer. The reporter interviewed him.
The man, whom the reporter interviewed, is a lawyer.
Difference 1:
From the 2 examples, you should see that there are always 2 actors for "whom" - the man and the reporter, and an action done. (Whom the reporter interviewed) And because "who" just describes the person in question, it has only 1 actor. (Who is a lawyer).
Difference 2
....who IS a lawyer....
...whom THE REPORTER interviewed....
The word(s) that follows after "whom" would always be a person or an animal. Never "is/am/are/was/were" etc.
The word after "who" will always be either a verb or is/am/are/was/were" etc.
This should be very clear now!
