Is there something wrong with me?

Hey (: So I was wondering if you thought there was something wrong with me. It's the summer and I have only spent about a week with my friends. I just prefer to stay home alone and do whatever I want to do. I like the company and whatever of my friends but I don't like to spend more than a couple hours with them. Also, I find that I'd rather talk to my friends on xbox live and play games with them than see them in person. Am I weird or something? Ugh. :( Oh and I'm generally a happy person and I like to talk to people and stuff, so if you're going to tell me I am depressed then you're wasting your time, just saying. So, is there something wrong with me? haha

Thanks for all the input! And I just wanted to say that I prefer to talk to my friends on xbox live because it's just more entertaining. And, when I don't want to talk to them anymore I can just go without being like "I'm tired of talking to you...."

No, this does not make you weird. I'm the same way. rather than be with friends, i would rather talk to them on live or by some other means. I also like to spend time alone at my house, it is a great time to think and reflect about your day and what you could do tomorrow. Spending time alone and talking to friends at distance is mostly a type of person who can be by themselves and be perfectly happy with that. On the other hand spending time with friends is also good. I try to keep a equal balance between a lone time and friend time :P i hope this helps lol :)

not really. some people don't like to hang out with friends that much and prefer to stay home

There is absolutely nothing "wrong" with you. In fact, there is many things right about you. Your happiness is your state of mind. You don't have to make excuses for who you want to be or how you live your life. Keep your chin up! You know what is best for you. You are who you are. So take it from there.

No,of course not. It's just the type of person you are. A lot of people in the world would rather spend more time alone than with people.

No. I talk to my friends everyday but everyone needs their personal time.(: which is a good thing. After awhile people might get snippy because they are always around someone. hope i helped

I get really annoyed if I'm around people for more than a few hours. I don't think that's a really rare thing.

I am the same way and it means you are actually better because you do not feel the need to be needy and always be with people. I rarely like to go out. So you are a homebody and somewhat of a loner, yes but who cares?! you are alone in this world anyway!

"if you're going to tell me I am depressed then you're wasting your time,"

It would also be a waste of time if say anything else. Who are we to judge you or tell you if there is something wrong with you or not? that's up to YOU to do decide, not a bunch of strangers.

Some people associate with friends in different ways, whether its through phone, in person or through internet. does it really matter? as long as you're a good friend thats all that matters.

This is getting more and more common.

Your Xbox live friends are an illusion in a way. You only see the side of them that they want to portray over the internet. With your real friends you are probably aware of their flaws, and they're probably aware of yours. If you can live with the fantasy of having perfect friends over the internet it becomes very difficult to face people in real life.

I'd definitely recommend spending more time with your real friends. It will cripple your interpersonal skills if you spend the majority of your time communicating with people without seeing their faces.

It's not weird, but it is something you should work on.

(But only if you're spending a lot of time not around other people. If you just enjoy your own personal space from time to time it's perfectly okay and normal).
