Hey, don't complain about the video output! It's a feature that I miss dearly. Lucky for me I bought what I believe is the last model in the U.S. to have a video output, and that was over a year ago. Many new TVs don't even have analog audio output anymore.
You can use the A/V out to connect to VCRs, DVRs, or other recording devices. (Or just use the audio output to connect to external speakers such as a stereo.) But soon manufacturers discovered that people would do things like copy DVDs they rented from the video store to VHS tapes using the video output, so they stopped putting them on TVs.
