I'm 21 and I STILL have the moments lol. I have a love hate relationship with texting because on one end, it allows me to THINK before I speak so I don't say something totally stupid but at the same time I want to hear that person's voice because it makes the conversation more intimate. You want advice? Just let the conversation flow. Find something you two have in common and take it from there. Maybe ask him about his favorite movies or the types of movies he's interested in, and you can start a nice discussion about movies which can lead to another topic like the time you (fill in the blanks) Just talk about things you like, but it's important to listen just as much as it is to talk. I've noticed that sometimes guys are shy on the phone for the first time so you may have to soften him up and ask a lot (NOT TOO MANY) questions to get him going. Don't worry about a little silence. The silence is only as awkward as you make it. I'm not saying sit there and listen to each other breathe for 10 solid minutes, but its ok to take a break from talking perhaps to think of the next topic. Here's a really fun idea, maybe if something is interesting on tv and you two have the same channels you can watch it over the phone. Kind of a like a date but not so much lol. Just have fun and be yourself more importantly.
