中五生到美國留學讀書

I am a F5 graduate this year and i have just come to LA America here for education. Today i went to the school and the school stuff gave me some forms to fill in and also a course description booklet to see what subjuects to choose from. I need to study English, American History, Mathematics, Science and also foreign languages. However, there are so many different levels in one subject which make me confused and don't know which suits me most.

For example, i would like to study chemistry in the Science area. But there are 5 to choose from - Chemistry, Chemistry-Con't, Chemistry Honors, Chemistry AP ( Advanced Placement) and also Chemistry IB SL. So i just want to ask what should be the next level I should study in ? ( Which level suits students who just finished F.5 in Hong Kong? )

Should anybody who knows the education in the US well please give me some help and tell me the levels suitable for me in Mathematics and Chemistry area. Thank you.
