Is non domestic rate same as council tax?

I just set up a new business which i have received a letter for council tax and another letter for non domestic rate.

It means business rates, which are different than domestic rates. (council tax) Usually more but you can get small business tax relief.

Non domestic, that is the clue. Stupid Blair couldn't just leave it called Business Rates
