if they can just hang in their till they get palanco and utley back then yah.. What Amaro has to do is to pick up a quality infielder in the meantime such as miguel tejada so they have he ability to hang in their.. Also they need to pick up a quality starter, the Cliff Lee deal is starting to haunt them. So basically if the Phils can stay within 4 games back by the time they get Utley and Palanco back they will be in good shape

I'd say the Phillies are still in very good shape to make the playoffs at only 5 out in their division. A couple 5 and 2 weeks probably puts then in a tie or a game back. August will surely be pivotal, as that is when a lot of the pretenders fall off.

Most wins? By a pitcher, team, this season, ever? 49 wins tops the NL right now with several teams at 43 or more. Lots of room for losing streaks to clean out this bunch.

The Phillies still have a chance at winning the NL pennant (I still think the Mets and the Braves are going to collapse in the NL East, and I don't like the Padres or Reds in the postseason).

As for the World Series, that's just too hard to predict.

"Who has the most wins?" This may be the most confusing question ever asked. Do you mean a team or a pitcher, and do you mean in the NL or in the MLB?

No.

Whenever I think of Jimmy Rollins, the Ben Franklin statement "empty barrels," comes to mind.

The Phillies will need to have a great second half and stop losing to the Pirates.

Yes, the Phillies still have a chance to win the World Series. Technically, every team has a chance to win the World Series at this point, because nobody has been eliminated. And the Phillies have a record above .500, so they will be in the hunt for th eplayoffs. The Braves and Mets are ahead of the Phillies, though, so they'll need to pick up the pace a bit if they want to get back to the postseason.

Baseball Prospectus gives the Phillies a 17.7% chance of making the playoffs - so they have a chance, but not a good one.

I am not sure what you meant by "who has most wins," so I'll give you a few stats here:

The Yankees have 52 wins, which is the most in MLB.
The Braves and Padres have 49 wins, which is the most in the NL.
The Phillies have 43 wins, which is not the most of anything, but isn't bad either.
Among Phillies pitchers, Roy Halladay has the most wins (10).

I think the Phillies still have a chance to win WS. It is just that the Braves have better chance. I don’t know who got the idea that the Braves will collapse by the season end. They did not even have a chance to do that. I thought the Braves would collapse in June that did not happen. I thought the Braves may struggle against weaker teams that did not happen either. Now I truly believe that this is a different Braves team and playing with confident and fundamentally sound baseball, which will not fade away just because couple of players does not perform.

I hardly worry about the Mets. They are a team will collapse. Their bullpen is average, their rotation is way overrated. They do have a decent line-up once Beltran comes back. I hardly think it will be enough.

Around the same time in 2008, they had a 10 games winning streak and played a very hot June and July and the Phillies were behind them. That is just where they get hot during the year. They collapsed after that.

If you take the Braves out of the division, I think the Phillies will catch the Mets up by the end of August and win the division from their. With 2010 Braves in the division, neither the Mets nor the Phillies will catch them up. Well, the Phillies might, depends trade moves and hot streaks. No hope for the Mets.

The Braves has the most wins in NL so far this season.
