1. Replace your monitor with another one and try. It doesn't have to be new and something special, just a working one will be fine. Run it for a few hours. If the PC is normal, your monitor needs replacement. If it's still the same, replace the video card with a similar one for trial. If normal, replace your video card. If all fail, see below.
2. Try to correct overheating. Disconnect power. Open the tower and clean everything inside, including fans (and blades), motherboard, RAM & video card slots (remove, clean then reseat), heat sink fins and anything dusty. A small soft clean paint brush will do the job. Repeat this every 6 months anyway. You'll be amazed what it can do to your PC. If problem still exists, replace the thermal compound between your heat sink and CPU. Old and brittle compound can cause overheating on your CPU and Windows/motherboard will shut it down when it exceeds a certain temperature.
3. Tidy up your cables inside the PC to allow better air flow. Make sure your have a least 2 fans for the tower. One for drawing while the second one's for blowing air out. This is the best ventilation you can get.
