by Katharine Lapre ... blocked them them unblocked them. Go to their profile, on left side go to block/unblock. Then block them, unwanted contact, friend request.

After blocking them, go to your account privacy settings, block list. You will see their name. Unblock. Now go to their profile and your friend request will no longer be pending !
