Shifting origin to (2,4), the new coordinates of the given points are
(6,4), (0,0) and (2,-4)

Area of the triangle
= (1/2) l -24 - 8 l
= 32/2
= 16

The Answer:
C) 16

This is a triangle with one side lying on the x-axis, between vertices (-4, 0) and (4, 0).

The base length is 4 - -4 = 8.

The height is the distance of third vertex (2, 4) from x-axis, i.e. 4.

area of triangle
= ½bh
= ½ x 8 x 4
= 16

C) 16
