"這棵樹是否在你屋內?" 這一句本身已經有問題.

當用"這"的時候, 就包含著你正在看著"這棵樹"的意思.

既然你已經看到它, 那麼你還有需要問這個問題嗎?

若你是指著那樹同類的照片來問這問題的話, 那麼便沒有問題了.

否則, 一般情況下, 應該用"那". 即是 : "那棵樹是否在你屋內?"

但是, 這樣問還是怪怪的. 試用廣東話問一次 : "果[paul]樹係咪o係你屋企?"

"果[paul]樹"是什麼樹? 主語已經是不太確定了. 這樣會很怪的.

用這個問法最好是已經知道是什麼樹. 例如 : "那棵聖誕樹是否在你屋內?"

又或者是換另一個問法 : "你屋內是否有一棵樹?"

譯成英文的話, 003 (hkman1357999) 的答案基本是對的 :

那棵聖誕樹是否在你屋內? = Is that Christmas tree located inside your house?
你屋內是否有一棵樹? = Is there a tree in your house?

I would say

is the tree in your house?

I would not use the word "locate". It doesn't sound right.
