US does not use flak jacket after the Vietnam war,,,,,The thing we use today are called Body Armor or PASGT (Personnel Armor System for Ground Troop) which compose of kevlar material or called Kevlar Vest.

Kevlar vest are supposed to have stopping power of a 7.62 round fire from 100 meters with ceremic plating insert, but due to degradation of the PASGT, most of them can only stop AK round fire from 200 meters or longer.

In the military, this is called Trauma. Which is a force that hit you and make you pass out cold.

Ina case when the vest stopped the bullet, the soldier will Certainly be knocked over by the stopping force. The froce is so strong that it will be like you got hit by a hammer in the stomach when the vest caught the bullet.

If a bullet pass thru the vest and it did deal damage to the person, you will see him tumble down not knocked over, when you see a soldier got hit then knocked over that mean the bullet was stopped by the vest.

中彈仲會流血?

It could, even if the bullet stopped by the vest, the "Blunt Force trauma" could still deal internal damage.

I have seen people got bruise by the stopping force, nose bleed from the internal injury and flesh wound from the fragment the bullet stopped which continue on and deal damage or deflected.

The different is you face certain death if you got hit without one, you may get a bruise, internal injury or scratchs if you wore one.

Both Army and Marine uses different typeof body Armor

The Army uses Improved Outer Tactical Vest(IOTV), and interceptor body armor (IBA)

Pre-Golf War, US soldiers wear flak jacket. It provides minimum protection from shrapnel, thus it is not bulletproof.

Now they wear a vest with front & back level 3 trauma plates, 25cmX30cm. It will stop a 9.6 g (148 gr) 7.62x51mm NATO M80 ball bullets at a velocity of ~850 m/s.

By studying medical journal, when one is shot by a bullet, his or her body goes into hydrostatic shock. That causes the incapability of one human being, if not fatal, or bleed to death.

可能口徑大個防彈衣,令子彈打穿防彈衣,不過防彈衣只係令士兵5會被子彈射死,子彈還是有衝力的!大約2-5公斤,好像給打的感覺!
