For a reaction aA → Products,
[A]0 = 5.0 M, and the first two half-lives are 25
and 50 minutes, respectively.
a) Write the rate law for this reaction.
ans: rate = k[A]2
b) Calculate k.
ans: k = 8.0 x 10-3 M–1min–1
c) Calculate [A] at t = 525 minutes.
ans: [A] = 0.23 M

當 [A]o = 5.0 M, t1/2 = 25 min
當 [A]o = 2.5 M, t1/2 = 50 min
t1/2 與 [A]o 成反比。

在二級反應中, t1/2­ = 1/(k[A]o)
t1/2與 [A]o 成反比。
因此,該反應為二級。
Rate = k[A]²


b)
當 [A]o = 5.0 M, t1/2 = 25 min
t1/2­ = 1/(k[A]o)
25 = 1/(k x 5)
k = 1/(5 x 25)
k = 8 x 10⁻³ M min⁻¹


c)
[A]o = 5.0 M, t = 525 min
在二級反應中:1/[A] = kt + (1/[A]o)
1/[A] = (8 x 10⁻³)(525) + (1/5)
1/[A] = 4.4
[A] = 0.23 M
