I think you have a typo:
3x-10 = x = 30 means that x equals 30, but also equals 3x-10.
If you meant 3x-10=x+30, then x=20

If you meant 3x-10=x+30, then x=20

3x-10=x+30
3x-x=2x
2x-10=30
now just hide 2x and think what take away 10= 30 which is 40
so 2x =40
so x=20
3x-x=2x
2x-10=30

3x-10=x+30

X is a number. Right in your problem, it says x = 30.
But first, it says 3x - 10 = x
Subtract x from both sides, to get 3x - 10 = 0
Then add 10 to both sides, to get 3x = 10
Now divide both sides by 3, to get x = 10/3 = 3 & 1/3
