The america's flag was a Red-White-Blue Design with 50 stars in Canton as an union jack, and 13 horizontal stripes across the fly and hoist.

The 50 Stars represent the 50 States of America (48 Lower State + Hawai'i + Alaska) where the 13 stripes represent the original 13 colony that resist the Rule of British Empire.

我成日覺得米字旗就係美國國旗 , 2 款旗的旗的顏色又一樣 , 但而家的美國國旗事實上並唔係米字旗 , 而是有 50 粒星星的國旗 , 咁到底 , 呢 2 款旗係咪有 d 咩關係 , so , 令我有呢個想法呢 ??

Generally, people in asia would call America to 米國 instead of 美國, In the Japanese language, the official Japanese name for the USA is 米國, this is probably why you remember 米字旗 as US National Flag.
