S4 Maths Polynomials (5m)

Find the HCF and LCM of
x^3-2x^2-5x-6 and
x^3-6x^2+11x-6

I can't factorize x^3-2x^2-5x-6 , so I don't know how to do?
But I can factorize x^3-6x^2+11x-6 into (x-1)(x-2)(x-3)

Can anyone help me? Thank you for your help. 5m

Could it be x^3 -2x^2 - 5x + 6, not - 6? Please check.

When testing with x = 1, x = 2 and x = 3, x^3 - 2x^2 - 5x - 6 is not equal to zero, that means (x -1), (x - 2) and (x - 3) are not factors of x^3 - 2x^2 - 5x - 6. Therefore, x^3 - 2x^2 - 5x - 6 and x^3 - 6x^2 + 11x - 6 has no common factors. For this reason, HCF is 1, LCM is (x - 1)(x -2)(x -3)(x^3 - 2x^2 - 5x - 6).

Use the Long Division and the factor theorem.
