[英文] 轉幾句句子做participle phrases

2010-06-09 5:20 am
1) As James was cutting an apple, he hurt himself.
2) I fell down because I ran.
3) Since James cut an apple, he hurt himself.

尤其想問下第1句, 應該轉做 「Cutting an apple, James.... 」定係「Being cutting an apple, James...」? 如果係前者, 咁past continuous同simple past係咪轉participle phrases 果陣時冇分別?

✔ 最佳答案
1. Cutting an apple, James hurt himself.
2. Running, I fell down.
3. Cutting an apple, James hurt himself.

Present particple structures have the meaning of when , as, since, for doing something.
The Present particple phrase for simple past tense and past continuous tense is the same.
e.g. When James cut an apple, he hurt himself.
Cutting an apple, James hurt himself.
As James was cutting an apple, he hurt himself.
Cutting an apple, James hurt himself.
