corrosion can be applied to all metals, but rusting is a specific term for the corrosion of iron metal.moisture(Water??)>>>>>>moisture= water vapour in general

Corrosion is the chemical reaction.
Rust is the physical form, the brown stuff you see & feel on exposed iron surface.
Rusting is the process, same as corrosion.
When you answer question on school work/paper, especially in chemistry, use the word "corrosion".
I don't think it is the real gold on the giant buddha. The paint is just a special formula that corrosion resist and have a golden color.
