The following table shows the melting points and boiling points of substanceX,Y,Z .They are in three diffrent states at room temperature and pressure.

substance Melting Point(c) Boiling Point(C)
X -30 100
Y 300 600
Z -150 -50

Which substance is a gas at room temperature and pressure?
Which one, solid, liquid or gas, represent the particles arrangement of substance Y?Explain the answer clearly and fluently.

X is in liquid state in HK tempeature (5--35 degree C).
Y is in solid state in HK temperature.
Z is in gas state .
X is solid under -30 & become liquid in our room temp. Y is still solid at 300 , so it is solid in our room temp. Z is boiling at -50 so it will be gas in our room temp .

Q: Which substance is a gas at room temperature and pressure?
A: Z, 因為Z喺-50 C (低過room temp.) 就已經boil咗.

Q: Which one, solid, liquid or gas, represent the particles arrangement of substance Y? (at room temp. + pressure?)
A: solid, 因為at room temp. + pressure, Y仲未melt/boil (melting point > room temp.).
