Change the linear equation into "y = mx + c" form.
-1/3(x) + 4y = 2
4y = 1/3(x) + 2
y = [1/3(x) + 2]/4
y = 1/12(x) + 1/2

If x is 0, y becomes the y-intercept of the linear equation.

y = 1/12(x) + 1/2
y = 1/12(0) + 1/2
y = 1/2 (0.5)

Therefore, the y-intercept is 1/2 or 0.5.

Presentation is INCORRECT and should be :-

(-1/3) x + 4 y = 2

4y = (1/3) x + 2

y = (1/12) x + 1/2

y intercept is y = 1/2
