What would you think? <Ladies>?

I am a fundamental Christian who is also fascinated by history. I found this site where, what they do, is they find really really old Bibles (400+ years) that are falling apart and have pages ruined, and they gently take them apart an take out the pages that are still good and they sell them, so people can put them up on their walls, etc. Anyway, I was thinking of putting in for the passage that describes the perfect wife. It seems to be in high demand, as I have not seen it available, but I though I could reserve the next one they got in, so that whenever I get married I could give it to my wife. Anyway, my question is, what would you think if you found that your husband had bought something like this before he had even met you, for whoever he ended up marrying? Would you think it was sweet and sentimental? Weird and creepy? Too much pressure? Sometimes I get these ideas that I think are great, and it takes someone from outside to let me know that it's actually weird, and not in a good way.

For a woman who follows a spiritual path similar to yours, she may find it appealing...as I recall the xian bible had a rather unflattering view of women (in general) and either considered them to be whores or supposed to be subservient to men...not my idea of something complimentary to give ones wife, but then I'm an agnostic pagan...

I think that if you gave something like that to a women right away then it would be a little too much too soon, borderline creepy. BUT if this was a women you had been with for a long time and were getting married, this would be very very thoughtful and sweet. I am not religious but I appreciate history very much and know the value of things like that and any other women that understood the value also would be taken away with the fact that you put so much thought into something like that. If I had found out my husband got something like that before he met me, I would be amazed, in a good way.

I would not take it as being sweet, to me it would be like handing me a list of what he wants me to be or expects me to be. There is no perfect wife.

If you and your future wife are EQUALLY yoked, then it would be a sweet gesture. You would be sending her the message that in your eyes, she is the perfect wife. What women wouldn't love to get that message from her husband?
But if you marry someone who you are not equally yoked with then it would be offensive.

unless you found someone who was born and raised to serve a man (doubt your gonna find one) i doubt if she would find it amusing and you would probably lose the woman. how about you find the one that shows you how to be a perfect husband and put that one up

I think it is very sweet. I am a Christian and would want a nice sweet Christian husband like you to give me something so thoughtful. Some women are different though, they would find it weird or creepy, maybe silly, or maybe they just wont find it as meaning anything at all. I don't see why it would bother a woman though especially since you would be buying it before you met them
