The 2 company,Coca-Cola and Pepsi, produce numerous cans of coke in local factories. On the average, the numbers of defective cans produced byCoca Cola and Pepsi are 0.05 and 0.07 every hour respectively. Suppose that cans of coke in a production line are independently.
(a) A quality controller is inspecting cans produced in the production line of Coca-Cola one by one in a particular 1-hour period. Find the probability that
(i) the third can is the first defective one he picks up.
(ii) he picks up the first defective can by inspecting fewer than 4 cans.
(iii) he picks up the first defective can after inspecting 9 cans.
(iv) he finds the tenth can is the third defective can.
(v) the tenth can is the third defective can if 1 defective can has been found in the first 3 cans.
(vi) estiamate the numbers of cans passing through the production line before a defective can is found.
