Eye contact problem, please help?

I have a bit of socialphobia.
Just wondering, when you sit across someone, like on the bus, or on the train, where do your eyes look? Do you feel embarrassed when you have to look at the his face? Do most people try to look at somewhere else, to avoid eye contact, or is it just me? Is it intrusive to look at the person in front while travelling on train? Thanks!

If you are actually interacting with someone, then look at their eyes, mouth, or just above their forehead (if eye contact makes you nervous). However, if you are not, try to keep your eyes elsewhere, like out a window, in a book, or down the walk-way (towards the front or back of the bus/train/etc.).
