I think you should wait until the next generation of iPod Touch and iPhone OS 4.0 come.
The ipod touch should come in June or july.
Because ipod touch only have wifi, you can not surf the net unless you have something like pccw everywhere. if you really want to surf the net everywhere, ipod touch can not be you first choice.

if you really like listen to music, ipod is a good choice because of it's good sound quality.

if you want to surf the net more than others, you should buy a cell phone more than a ipod touch.

some said the next generation will have camera. if you can wait, you can buy that(you also have more time to save money!)

there are no 16gb now.

if you don't really need internet, ipod is good.
