Why is it so hard for me to write happy poems?

i know i can write some really good sad and depressing poems and then some bad happy ones i do better in writing sad stuff and i stick to that it's my style

Could it be that a sense of humor is something that God did not give to women, so that they could love men instead of laughing at them? Seriously,

Perhaps you need to alter the way you see life in general because it seems like you feel more comfortable seeking sadness. Life is too important to take seriously.

Happy poems usually lack the depth of meaning, and wouldn't leave a profound impression to the readers. So you are probably a person with lots of thoughts.

Some wise sage once said "write what you know", and that's good advice. However, if you want to grow as a writer--write what you dream-----and obviously your dream is to write a happy poem---and well BE happy. So, go look at some greeting cards, both serious, and comedy ones because they're full of happy verse, and then pattern areas of your happy poems after what that writer did-----How they put this word there, and that word over there, what their tone was, and just exactly how they made you feel happy when you read their poem. Writing is a state of mind, whether you're in emo Alaska, or happy Florida---you're in the drivers seat------Because you have the pen!--------------------william
