decide which of the following is' are redox reaction(s). In each case, if applicable, state the formulae of the oxidising agent and reducing agent, and name the chemical which is oxidised.

1. 2NO + O2 -> 2NO2
2. C + 4HNO3 -> CO2 + 4NO2 + 2H2O
3. HCl + NaOH -> NaCl + H2O
4. Zn + CuSO4 -> ZnSO4 + Cu
5. Cl2 + 2NaOH -> NaCl + NaOCl + H2O

1.
The reaction is redox.
Oxidizing agent : O2 (O.N. of O decreases from 0 to -2)
Reducing agent : NO (O.N. of N increases from +2 to +4)
Chemical which is oxidized : nitrogen monoxide

2.
The reaction is redox.
Oxidizing agent : HNO3 (O.N. of N decreases from +5 to +4)
Reducing agent : C (O.N. of C increases from 0 to +4)
Chemical which is oxidized : carbon

3.
The reaction is NOT redox.

4.
The reaction is redox.
Oxidizing agent : CuSO4 (O.N. of Cu decreases from +2 to 0)
Reducing agent : Zn (O.N. of Zn increases from 0 to +2)
Chemical which is oxidized : zinc

5.
The reaction is redox.
Oxidizing agent : Cl2 (O.N. of Cl decreases from 0 to -1 in NaCl)
Reducing agent : Cl2 (O.N. of Cl increases from 0 to +1 in NaOCl)
Chemical which is oxidized : chlorine
