Festival前面 何時要加the?

見過有部分Festival前面要加the,, 有部分又唔洗,, 例如:
the Mid-Autumn Festival
the Chinese New Year
Christmas

In general, if the festival includes the word Festival, then 'the' is needed.
e.g. The Mid-Autumn Festival / The Lantern Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival, The Edinburgh Festival

Otherwise, no article is needed
e.g. Christmas, Easter,Thanks giving, Father's Day,Chinese New Year
but we say the Christmas holidays, the Easter holidsays , the Chinese New Year holidays

It is a mistake to say the Chinese New Year

1a) Mid(adjective) Autumn (noun) Festival (noun)
2) The (Chinese New Year) = collective pronoun
2a) Chinese (noun) New (adjective) Year (noun)
3) The (Christmas) = noun
3a) Christmas (adjective) lighting (noun)

"a", "an" and "the" are called determiners, they're are use to identify the following subject to be a noun or a collective noun.
