I think professor Stephen Hawking once said, when the computer is made as sophistical as human, he sees no reason why the computer is not consciences. (or something like that, it was quite recent)
What is life? is life consciences?
Our body is one big giant sophistical chemical reaction at equilibrium, is consciences a "program" to maintain this giant chemical equilibrium the way it is? is this what life is about? maintain the status quo?
if so, when computer is made as sophistical as us, what is his consciences "thinking"? if the top target of this consciences is to maintain the chemical equilibrium, will it consider human as a threat? when there is a equally sophistical consciences around other then human, are we going to consider it as a threat to us?
there are other agenda that our moral/religious has set for us, e.g.
1, to advance ourself
2, to be happy
3, to be free,
but all these agenda/life target are base on the most fundamental agenda, i.e. to maintain the status quo. if we can not maintain the status quo, there is no room to advance ourself, or be happy or to be free!
So, the question what is life? what is life base on? what is it originated from? basically come down to one answer, and that is to maintain the status quo or stay alive! (you can find ways/targets/direction later in life)
life seem to be quite pointless really....
I hope my answer is helpful!
