1. US is better than Canada
reason: first, there are too many hongkongers living in Canada, but not in US. Since you want to learn english plus earn a degree, I would suggest you to study in US. Apart from that, the weather in US is more suitable for hongkonger than canada. the weather in canada is quite cold and very dry. In contrast, the weather in US[california & Seattle] is relatively warmer and less dry. So I would suggest to stdy in USA

2. for canada: HK$140000-180000; for USA: HK$150000-200000

3. First, you need to provide your high school transcript[form 6 result], also you need to take TOEFL exam. Finally, you need to provide financial statement to prove that you are able to study in US

4. For canada, you can get a job in the school and out of school. But in US, you can only work in school,such as librarian, cashiers in cafeteria, tutor, assistant, receptions, and so on

5. There are not too many requirements for homestay program. But you need to provide financial statement

6. NO IDEA

7. since you just finish HKCEE exam. I would suggest you to take form 6 in hongkong and go to community colleges in US as most of the community colleges in US requires a form 6 transcripts. In my experience, I finish my form 6, then i go to community colleges in US, Apart from that, in form 6, try joining more extracurricular activities, it can help you to apply community colleges in US. Finally, it is strongly recommended to take TOEFL exam, or else, schools in US will think that you are just going to take american english[ALCI] program instead of getting a degree.

Canada is cheaper in tuiton, easier to get visa to go there.

USA has more school choices ----over 6000 colleges to choose from. graduated from USA, sounded better than other countries. companies will like it better when you looking for job.

college tution is about $ 200,000 to $250,000 HKD a year. included dorm and meal plan.

you come to study, so don't think about much to find work and make money, you won't have much time doing that... classes study and homeworks are very intenes.
PS. you should finished F6 before you go. because in different school system, you are ( F5 ) still a high school student.
