茼蒿屬菊科,別稱打某菜。相傳某老粗囑妻熱燙整籃茼蒿,卻僅撈起一小盤,老粗硬指妻子偷吃而痛毆,打某菜從此得名。因茼蒿含水量極高,遇熱時水份排出,使體積大量收縮之故。原產地中海沿岸,生長適溫約在15~20度之間,在台灣地區屬秋冬季蔬菜。

春菊與茼蒿的外型好相似,味道比茼蒿清香,農友稱它為日本春菊,花瓣和嫩葉可生食或放湯。
