Every time I use my electric razor, I feel itchy on my face after five minutes of the shave. Why? I always have to put some lotion afterward to relieve it.

Hi, I'm Pedro and I work for Gillette. As you may be aware of Braun is another of our great brands and I thought I could offer you some advise.

We recommend to use light gentle strokes and avoid going over the same area too many times. Always shave with dry skin and go against the grain. When you're going across with shaver, stretch your skin slightly. Also remember to change your blades according to the manufacturer's recommendations for your type of beard. Blunt blades will further irritate your skin. Continue to use a moisturiser as before, since it's important to replenish your skin. You might want to try and rinse your face with cold water to cool the skin. Make sure you pat dry and not rub.

I hope this helps, but you can always send me an email if you have more questions to [email protected]

An electric razor? I'm guessing this 5 minutes of shaving, you're pretty much rubbing the thing on your face, right? I can't imagine rubbing anything on my face for 5 solid minutes and NOT itching. If the lotion makes it feel better, just keeping doing that. Nothing wrong with moisturizing your face.

The razor is irritating your skin. When you shave, it cuts the hair but also scrapes up your skin. Do you end up with razor burn or does it just itch?

That is not unusual. That is the reason aftershave lotions are in the marked.
