Cost of WW1 by nation (includes war expenditure, property losses and merchant shipping losses):

Germany - $58.072 billion
Austria - $23.706 billion
Turkey - $ 3.445 billion

WW2:
Germany - $300 billion
Japan - $100 billion

As these countries were all totally defeated at the end of the world wars, there were no gains as such as monetary terms.

The above figures were compiled by US military intelligence shortly after each war, so you're looking at the value of the $ at those times.

Enemies in WW1 - you forgot Austria-Hungary, Bolshevik Russia and the crimson military. Enemies in WW2 - you forgot Italy and Vichy France. Territories won in WW1 - Turkey made minor positive aspects alongside the Black Sea. Germany lost enormously plenty each little thing as a consequence of the Treaty of Versailles. The Bolshevik occasion of Russia and the crimson military won administration over all of Russia, as nicely using fact the Ukraine (which ultimately brought about the creation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.) Territories won in WW2 - genuinely none. Germany lost it extremely is Independence, as did Japan. Italy additionally lost their's to a minor volume.

Jeff is right: it's impossible to give exact figures or reliable sources for losses of the enemies. Based on many questions posed by students today, I have to conclude their teachers are idiots or lowest bidders. Suffice it to say that in World War I the enemies were left annihilated in social and economic senses, which led directly to World War II. That confrontation, in turn, destroyed the enemies beyond any chance of recovery for years to come, in particular the Japanese, who chose not to believe our warning of intent to use atomic weapons and were almost eliminated for their foolishness.

Absolutely impossible to give exact figures, perhaps more interesting is the financial terms following the wars.

After ww1 the germans were ordered to pay reparations to the allied countries, this of course decimated the german economy for 20 years and eventually led to the rise of the nazi party.

Following the 2nd world war the 'marshall plan' decided to do the reverse and pump money INTO germany to help re-build.

Out of the 2, the latter apparently seems to have worked out better.
