How many Australia prisoners were taken in WW1 and WW2?

Thank you for your question.

During World War I, the Turks and Germans took 4,000 Australians as POWs. In World War II, 8,591 POWs were taken by the Germans and Italians and 22,000 by the Japanese. The sources in the Trove source will also be useful in compiling references.
