**To study abroad in the UK**

ANYONE PLEASE HELP!

1st of all, Im a HK f4 student studying in a band1 EMI public girls sch considerably to top all the others gov girls schs. My academic performance within the sch is approx. medium-high amongst 200 pupils. Quite strong in Eng (esp. composition & oral) & weak at maths.

Im trying to apply a few 6th form colleges in the UK:
& these were the ones the agent recommended after I took their test.

Headington, Rodean, Sherborne Girls, St. Mary (Calne), Badminton etc.

while, my ultimate target is the CHELTENHAM LADIES COLLEGE.

CLC seems reli prestigious & many of the DGS and St. Paul Co-Ed girls have chosen. To b honest, I admit my sch is beneath them, but not much. What i see from ranking, the Badminton Sch & CLC are abt the same, but the agent tried to sell BS but not CLC. They told me CLC would b a [quite challenging] task. I wonder was it becoz they dont have the proxy for CLCs entrance test?

SO here it is, are there anyone who is currently studying in CLC would kindly share their experience wif me? / any1 who is/has been studying abroad in UK will do.

coz Im kinda vexed abt the chance of getting in CLC as i dun wanna waste some extra $ on the entrance test if the chance is too slight.

plus can i re-apply for it if i failed the 1st admission/entrance test? (touchwood!)

ok rite now forget abt CLC. Id also like to know abt the A-level exams in the UK. I currently didnt study PHYSICS but Im going to self-study & take the A-level exam. I wonder how would the difficulty of the curriculum be in UK? and rumor had it that MATHS is quite easy in UK, true? & most importantly, they said no calculators allowed!? true as well o.0? (coz Im absolutely handicapped without it)

and how its like to study in the UK? Is racist/discrimination serious in those independent schs (eg. those that i mentioned above) ? etc

Anyway, though i still got soo many question marks keep popping up in my mind. Im gonna stop here first. MANY THANKS to whoever going to answer this :D I HEART YOU! lol.

Personally, I think CLC is better than badminton, the agent is usually not being very honest with you guys, I got kinda deceived by them as well, when I first came to UK, so just go for what you want. But I am not in those school, so I dun know about them very well.

Once after the entrance exam, there are 3 options: Accepted, Rejected and On the waiting list. I dun think you can re-apply it, but once you are on the waiting list, you may have to pay for the reservation. Also, my fds got accepted even when they got rejected at the first place, but I dun quite know what they did.

In AS, you have to take at least 4 objects because you only have to show 3 grades to uni when you are applying to unis. For physics, it is really different from person to person. It also depends on the teachers. But when you find it difficult, you can change your options immediately at the first term.

Calculators are not allowed on one of the maths paper only, core 1, and the others are allowed to use them. If it is not allowed, the maths won't be that hard.

Actually, there must be some ppl being racist, you can't avoid it, but usually you will stick with hk ppl as well when you get there. But some of the british ppl are very nice, dun worry too much about this point.
