~Argumentative essay is a formal composition. That's mean a clear representative format is needed when writing this. Both sides of PROS AND CONS are needed in your essay. Your own opinion should be excluded or this will become a FAIL essay.

THE FORMAT: As mentioned above, both advantages and disadvatages should be included. An introduction which presents the background of your given tittle should be written on your first paragraphs. THEN, lish out your advantages. To separate the pros and cons, a bridging paragraph is needed. AFTER THAT, point out the disadvantages then a conclusion. You can quote some survey on your essay in the atempt to increase the conviction of the readers.

~Debate speech is a unformal composition. It is merely read by the writer and thus no public regulations to constrain the format. Debate speech, however, have to quote a lot of books to convince the listeners or judgers in order to win your opposite sides.

As my onpinion, you can use the A+b form to write a debate speect. The introduction and conclusion should be involved in your first and last paragraph respectively. Moreover, as you are arguing the same side(not both sides), you only have to list out all your respects.

For argumentative essay, start off the first paragraph as an introduction of your topic. Then for the body, you will have to argue both sides (positive and negative) in each paragraph for each points. In essay writing its called, the "AB" form. Which (A) is a positive point, and (B) is a negative point. It doesn't matter how many points you have. Of course, you need to include all the points you need to argue about. Then finally, you can sum up the essay in the final paragrah.

As for debate speech form, the first and last paragraphs are standards in all essay writings. Its just the body is different. The body should consist of one paragrah (A) for one arguement, and (B) the second paragraph for the next arguement.
