Possible scenario: Corrupted printer driver, printer cable problem, USB port problem, infected PC.
Part A
1. Go to control panel and remove your printer driver.
2. Shut down PC. Wait 2 minutes then restart from cool boot.
3. Reinstall your printer driver as directed by manual or on screen instructions. Be careful to follow exactly as instructed (i.e. when to plug in your USB cable etc).
4. Try to print a test page. If it fails, see below.
Part B
Check your printer ink levels or laser toner status. If they are low, it won't work. If OK, swap
the USB printer cable with a working one then try again.
Part C
Insert
a USB disk and check the input / output of the USB port. If normal,
your PC BIOS is OK ( i.e. not infected or corrupted). If
not, check your BIOS and see if the USB ports have been disabled. If
so, enable them, save and exit. Make sure you don't change anything else in here. If all's fine here, see
below.
Part D
Shut down PC. Go to Safe Mode then scan your C: drive with your anti virus program.

If all of the above fails, your printer might have to be serviced by qualified personel.
